Christmas is all about family! It started with a humble family on a starry night but made a way for you, your family and my family to come into “good tidings of great joy which will be all the people.” The promised Savior was born.

Wise men still seek Jesus (and worship Him too!). This Sunday we will revisit the passage of Matthew 2:1-2 and how the Magi (the Wise Men) found baby Jesus and worshiped him.

There had been about 400 years of silence from the prophets and from any move of God in the land of Israel. Now subjugated by the Romans, the longing for the Messiah increased for some who were awaiting his arrival. Many generations perished awaiting their arrival. For others, with each coming day, doubt begins to set in. No matter what great things the Lord did in the past for other people, a question begins to linger in our hearts. Is God still coming? Has he forgotten us? Has He forgotten me.

Today we will briefly revisit the Christmas story, paying close attention how the Lord uses circumstances to speak to us and to remind that us your current circumstances do not dictate your future. The Christmas Story reminds us that God loves us and that despite the sinfulness of man, God has a plan of redemption that He is threading through history, sometimes giving hints of what He is doing, something completely in the background.
