Long-time Shiloh members can clearly see we are in a special time of harvest. We are seeing an increase in attendance, salvations, baptisms, servant-leadership, and an excitement about what the Lord is doing in our midst. God is calling us to “enlarge our tents” and to be ready to impact our community in greater and more meaningful ways than before. We are a church fueled by prayer and driven by the presence of the Holy Spirit. GOD HAS SPOKEN CLEARLY THAT WE ARE TO EXPAND THE SCOPE OF THE MINISTRY to be able to minister to the families He is sending to us. We have increased our staff and our volunteer base, which we call the Dream Team, because of the mission He is calling us to. We have added pastors and administrators to the paid and part-time staff. More importantly, we have increased our discipleship efforts. Soon we will also unveil the School of Ministry for those seeking more advanced ministerial degrees.
As a by-product of our growth, we went to two services in June of 2022. An area specifically impacted has been our children’s ministries – Shiloh Kids Zone and Shiloh Nursery. Our children’s ministry is growing, and we expect a continuous harvest among our children and their families. God has called us to elevate our faith and “Possess the Land.” He has called us to be more intentional in prayer as to how to be better stewards of our time, gifts, and resources to impact our community and the surrounding areas. God said to Moses and Israel in Deuteronomy 1:8,
“See, I have given you this land. Go in and TAKE POSSESSION OF THE LAND
the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and
to their descendants after them.” (NIV)
As with the people of Israel, there are significant promises and prophecies that God has given us regarding Sierra Vista and Cochise County. Similar to the people of Israel, HE IS CALLING US TO IMPACT OUR COMMUNITY by sharing the Gospel, by serving people inside and outside our church, and by giving financially in a sacrificial manner. Possessing the Land includes maximizing the utilization of the approximately 23 acres that we own, but also stepping out boldly into the community to serve specific needs and to share the Gospel actively.
I am inviting you to join Pastor Raquel and me in praying and seeking the Lord in how He would have us take action in relation to our sacrificial gift during the 36-month Possessing the Land Initiative. This initiative began on October 9, 2022, pledges and Best First Gifts were brought by leaders on November 6, 2022, and the congregation-at large began to bring their pledges and Best First Gifts on November 13, 2022. We ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in this great Vision from the Lord.
Erick Villalvazo, Lead Pastor
